1. Confirm your vehicle's 12V/24V auxiliary battery system has an Anderson female port.
2. Plug the cable's Anderson male connector into the vehicle's Anderson female port — you'll hear a click when fully seated.
3. Insert the DC 5.5×2.1mm male plug into your Starlink Mini's power input port.
4. Turn on the vehicle's auxiliary power — Starlink boots up automatically.
Voltage matching is the key — Starlink Mini requires approximately 30V DC. Not all 12V batteries can directly supply this. Some installations require a DC-DC boost converter to step up from 12V to 30V. A cable alone won't solve the voltage mismatch — you may need a converter to get Starlink to boot.
Polarity must be correct — Anderson connectors have standard polarity: red is positive (+) and black is negative (−). Verify your vehicle power socket matches this standard before connecting. Reverse polarity can prevent power-on or even damage equipment.
Not every Starlink can run directly from 12V — Gen 3 operates at 57V and requires a boost converter. It cannot be connected directly to a 12V battery without one.
Secure the Anderson connection — Anderson connectors are designed for plug-and-play use. Road vibration can cause them to loosen over time. Secure the cable with zip ties after installation to prevent disconnection while driving.
